What is Forehead Lifting Surgery?

The appearance of forehead and eyebrows are significant factors at facial expression. How will be the surgery practice area and its conditions?

Surgery will be performed in a full-fledged hospital and under sedation/ local or general anaesthesia. A normal surgery lasts for 2-3 hours. The procedure may be applied by not requiring to stay at the hospital for an overnight. If general anaesthesia was applied, staying at the hospital for 1 overnight is needed.

What should be paid attention to before the surgery?

You had better share all your expectations and concerns with your doctor. During examination, you should reply to any questions to be asked about your general health condition in details and inform your doctor about your past diseases and medications you use.

How will the surgery proceed?

Your surgery to be performed in our hospital will be carried out with sedation + under local anaesthesia or general anaesthesia as to the practice. Its approximate duration is 1.5-2 hours, discharge at the same day is possible.

What should be known about anesthesia?

You will be examined and informed by an anaesthesia doctor before the forehead lifting surgery. Blood diluent medications, vitamins and factors affecting anaesthesia such as alcohol and smoking should be discontinued starting from the date foreseen by your doctor.

Period of returning to the social life after the surgery

After the surgery, you may have mild pain but this period is generally gone through easily with the prescribed painkillers. There may be oedema and purple spots for the first few days but they don’t obstruct your daily life. A head bandage may be used, it is removed after 2 days. There may be feelings of numbness and tenseness which will distinguish in 2 weeks.
